Answer : So, you have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and Node.js, but you're struggling to build an entire project from start to finish, right?
I faced the same issue when I started. What helped me was following tutorials and building projects alongside them. This approach allowed me to grasp the fundamentals—how to conceptualise, start, build, and expand a project. After that, I was able to create my own projects.
\=> If you're facing this same problem, this might help you too. That’s why I’m sharing my own method for learning from tutorials effectively. You don’t need to get stuck in tutorial hell. Just start by following 2-3 videos and build projects with them. This way, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how to create an entire project from start to finish.
\=> While watching the tutorials, you don’t need to copy everything exactly as the tutor is doing and code side by side. Instead, focus on understanding the process: what the person is doing, how to structure the idea, how to start the project, how to add features, create an MVP, and then expand.
In the beginning, watch a small part of the video, maybe 10-15%, where they set up the basic project and add some features. Take notes on the key steps the tutor follows: starting with the project idea, setting up the project, structuring the file system, adding basic components, pages, features, setting up the backend, and creating routes for login, signup, and retrieving user details.
\=> After that, close the video and try to replicate all the steps the tutor covered, using your notes as a guide. This way, you can start building on your own without watching the video. If you get stuck, you can always search on Google, ask ChatGPT, or reopen the video. The goal is to build projects by understanding and applying, not just replicating.
\=> So, it’s best if you can build at least 2 projects like this. Watch a portion, take notes, try to replicate it, then watch the next part, take notes, and replicate it again. By following this process, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how to build a project from scratch.
\=> Now, go to YouTube and search for full projects using the stack you want to work with. Follow this method to build your projects. This approach will definitely boost your confidence and give you a clear understanding of how to create your own projects from start to finish.
